Nass Family: First SNOW!

Steve and I kept our annual trip to Central Oregon for his birthday going this year, only a bit different with little miss in tow. We stayed the weekend with my brother. He and his roommates were troopers letting an almost one year old cruise around their house for a couple of days which adds quite a different dynamic than what they are used to. Charlotte hammed it up for everyone though, lots of smiles and funny expressions. Our only issue with the weekend was the absurd amount of time we were in the car with traffic and a wreck on our way over. We were at a stand still for over an hour. (See pics below) We had dinner at friends' house with their 12 week old husky pup. Always fun to see little kids interact with puppies. There was only one time where the pup completely surprised Charlotte and she just about jumped out of her skin, but once she calmed down all was well. I wish we would have taken some pictures of the two going after the same toys. It is truly amazing how similar dog toys and baby toys look.

Then on Saturday, Steve and I were able to enjoy a day on the mountain while Charlotte hung out at the day care. (If anyone is interested, we liked the day care - a bit pricey though if you aren't a family member of an employee. They also put Char in the infant room because she was under one - I think she was a bit bored but I guess that is better than the other option of being the little one in the bigger kid room. We look forward to her being bigger so she can go out and play in the snow.) And lastly Chris, Steve and I drove around Bend trying to go to dinner somewhere - ended up at Cascade Lakes Brewery after striking out at three other places due to super long wait lists. Got to love Bend over President's Day weekend. Overall it was a great weekend - so glad we got out of Salem for a couple of days.

Getting Charlotte out of her seat while stopped over the pass - this was her first snow, pretty uneventful first snow...
